Why You Should Drink Distilled Water for Health
Today our municipal water is filled with toxic pesticides, pathogens, pharmaceuticals, antibiotics, petrochemicals, heavy metals, forever chemicals and even hormones. All of these things, greatly contribute to a toxic overload in our bodies. Even the shower water we bathe in, can cause allergic reactions in individuals sensitive to the aforementioned toxins. To learn more, read my post “Clean Health Starts with Clean Water” for more information about the harmful byproducts found in our water system.

What is Distilled Water?
Distilled water is just H2O. H2O does not leach minerals from your body. In fact, many doctors, such as Dr. Andrew Andrew Weil, Dr. Brian Clement and Dr. Alan Banic agree that distilled water (H2O) is so pure, it can do a more efficient job of delivering oxygen to cells and taking away the waste.

Questions About Drinking Distilled Water for Health
Q: Is it OK to drink Distilled Water?
A: Yes! Distilled water is very safe to drink and you will actually enjoy the taste! In fact, I’ve been drinking distilled water for over 2 years now and I can’t believe how much healthier I feel and how wonderful my blood work looks. Even more, it reduced my radiation exposure, which was contributing to hair loss, dry eye and poor thyroid function. It’s important to note, if you have radiation in your tap water, I strongly suggest you invest in a whole house filter that eliminates radiation. In fact, you may still want to drink distilled water on top of this for health purposes.
Distilled water has been purified by the same process that nature has purified water, known as the hydrologic cycle. Water distillers boil water, causing evaporation to occur similarly to how the sun heats up oceans or lakes, which produces evaporation. Then the water condenses into a steam tube-like clouds forming in the sky, and lastly, it drips pure water into a glass jar or stainless steel storage tank like rain falling. (1)
Q: What is Distilled Water Used For?
A: Distilled water can and should be used for all of your consumption needs, such as drinking, cooking, baking, making ice cubes, coffee, and tea, rinsing produce, for your pet and watering your plants.
Q: Why Do People Drink Distilled Water?
A: Distilled water is toxin-free water. Toxins can lead to illness and/or disease.
Q: Who Can & Should Drink Distilled Water?
A: Because distillation produces 99.9% pure water, it makes sense for people to drink toxin-free distilled water. Distilled water is often recommended for the elderly, infants, and those with immune deficiencies because it is toxin-free and will not add any additional stress to the body. For this same reason, healthy people should drink distilled water to maintain good health. (1)
Q: Does Distilled Water Leach Minerals From the Body?
A: One myth about distilled water is that it will leach minerals from your body. This is not true. What is distilled water? It’s just H2O. H2O does not leach minerals from your body. Many doctors, such as Dr. Andrew Andrew Weil, Dr. Brian Clement, and Dr. Alan Banic agree that distilled water, H2O, is so pure that it can do a more efficient job of delivering oxygen to cells and taking away the waste.
The US Navy and US embassies have used distillers and recommended drinking distilled water for decades. Not only is it safe to drink, but it’s healthy too. (1)
Q: Is Distilled Water Too Acidic to Drink?
A: The pH of distilled water is near that of tap or bottled water, around 7.0 on the pH scale, which is neutral. As distilled water is exposed to the air, it will absorb some carbon dioxide (which might slightly affect the pH), but will have no impact on your body. One of your kidneys’ main functions is maintaining proper pH throughout your entire body. Keep in mind, the pH can vary from organ to organ or even cell to cell inside your body. (1)
Q: Does Distilled Water Remove Needed Minerals From Water?
A: Most minerals in water are inorganic and in a form that your body can’t absorb. In fact, inorganic minerals can build up inside the body and increase the stiffening of the joints, kidneys and gallstones, calcium deposits and arthritis. Furthermore, “you would have to drink hundreds of gallons of water a day to get any of the necessary minerals from water. We actually get the minerals we need from our food, not from drinking water. This is why eating organic, whole foods is so important for health.” (1)
Q: Is Boiled Water the Same as Distilled Water?
A: No, they aren’t the same. Boiled water is water that has had the temperature increased until it reaches boiling point. This only kills bacterias that can make a person sick. Distilled water is water that has removed all impurities, including radiation, forever chemical, nitrates, nitrites, fluoride, heavy metals, inorganic minerals and microorganisms. This is why distilled water is not the same as boiled water. (1)
